The preparation of groundbait material is not only crucial for competitions. Let’s see how to mix a general groundbait material and in which phase the sieves play a big role.

First, mix the dry ingredients in a large bucket or tub.

Next, take a container whose volume you know, say a half-liter maggot box will do.

We add as much water to our groundbait as we can achieve an almost ready consistency. (here the end result can be different, just the right consistency, drier, wetter, etc.)

Then mix it by hand in such a way that the grains are evenly moistened, and then you can start sieving.

Placing two handfuls of feed material on the sieve, sift the grains through the holes with fine movements, then when finished, cover and let rest for at least 30 minutes.

We then wet it again and break it through to get the final texture! Then we can also add flavor powders, corn, micropellets, and seeds.

When breaking through, choose a screen with the appropriate hole width for our groundbait material so that we can easily pass our feed material through the sieve.
